The National Housing Conference 2019 held in Darwin (27 to 30 August) to a sold-out audience of more than 1,100 delegates presented a jam packed, informative program; incredible insights into Indigenous culture in the NT and beyond, and a series of memorable networking events in some of Darwin’s most iconic locations.

Infrastructure Australia has released the Australian Infrastructure Audit 2019, which, for the first time, has expanded to cover the challenges and opportunities in providing Australia’s social infrastructure. As part of this new development, the Audit includes a necessary focus on social housing as an important part of social infrastructure.

The number of South Australian households currently renting in the private market and facing high housing costs is predicted to grow by between 6 and 7.5 per cent over the next five years, rising to approximately 60,000 households by 2014, according to a new report commissioned by the South Australian Housing Authority and completed by �����Թ�’s Professional Services team and its university partner, the University of Adelaide.

�����Թ� is pleased to announce the launch of its Cities Research Agenda featuring five inaugural research projects. The Agenda was formulated with input from a range of commonwealth and state infrastructure agencies and departments, and relevant industry peaks.

2019 marks 20 years of the �����Թ� (�����Թ�) Limited. In 1999, joint funding commitments from the Australian and all state and territory governments established the National Housing Research Program and �����Թ� Limited – the independent, not-for-profit company at the centre of �����Թ�’s national network of policy makers, university and industry partners.
